Dr Chris Wood, NHS practitioner, Hallam academic and research fellow at the University of Sheffield
Central to this valuable book is Val Huet's placement of art making at the heart of the supervisory process. She considers art therapy supervision research and its integration in generic research. Her comparison of international methods for art therapy supervision is fascinating. Huet's metaphor for supervision, 'the plumb line' shows her approach is that of a skilled artisan, carefully gauging the work within frameworks that are planned and built on a supervisee's self-care and compassion.
